When a hailstorm swept through New Castle, Pennsylvania, Sylvia’s house was caught in its wake, sustaining significant damage. At first, it seemed as though there might be some superficial type of roof damage, such as bruised shingles, broken roofs, torn ridges, and entry points for water. But it turned out there was much more beneath the surface.
Despite the magnitude of loss, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company offered only $8,181.51 at first. This was a very low amount compared to what would be needed for proper restoration. Sylvia was worried; it looked as though some sort of substandard repair work might be acceptable.
It was then that she contacted SPJ Adjusting.
But then, SPJ intervened with an objective and thorough assessment process, involving the reassessment of the property, cataloging each instance of hail impact, and determining the structural and functional damage that had been missed by the insurer. Thus, with facts at hand, new estimates and industry standards, SPJ formulated a very persuasive case as to what Sylvia was really due.

The amount of her award rose to $17,998.03, and this amount was sufficient for Sylvia’s house restoration. Having benefited from SPJ, Sylvia went from having reservations about it to confidence that a fair fight meant a fair award.
